3 months ago refugee and migrant women* occupied the main stage of the International Refugee Conference in Hamburg. We talked about the motivation behind this political intervention and its consequences. What is refugee women’s* role in the movement and how can we build links between feminist and refugee activism? 
We explored these and other topics on a wonderful Sunday evening with our guests Bahar from Kanal, Jennifer Kamau and Lea Höppner from IWS, La Toya Manly-Spain, Mai Shutta, Rajaa, Zari Harat & our live-audience.
The talkshow was accompanied by DJ*_ane Masta Sai

Bahar is a queer refugee activist, living on the Kanal; Berlin

Jennifer Kamau and Lea Höppner are activists from International Women Space. IWS is a group of migrant and refugee women* which came to Germany from former colonized countries as well as women* without that experience coming together to build a base and a common struggle against the effects of Fortress Europe.

LaToya Manly-Spain is a spoken word artist , human rights activist, educator, member of Schwabinggrad Ballett and founder of the collective ARRiVATi

Mai Shutta is a computer engineer and activist from Sudan. Cofounder of the nonviolent youth mouvement Grifna, human rights defender, digital security trainer, nonviolence trainer and project coordinator with Kurve Wustrow. Working with refugees since 2011 and also consultant of several other organizations. Founder of FGM, Female Genital Mutilation Awarness Group.

Rajaa is a queer, feminist activist

Zari Harat is an artist concerned with gender, queer, women’s* rights; a spiritual. political, human and ecological activist navigating her ideas in a neo- and postcolonial world. She promotes class and anti-colonial struggles for the right to stay (Bleiberecht). She is currently exhibiting her artwork “UR-SEIN” in Hamburg, in order to create a saner world with images. She has been living in Hamburg since 2010 and has spent many years in Berlin.

Just recently we learned from the press that Senat together with the Berlin districts published a list of places where so called „MUF“ (modular shelter for refugees) should be built. The only place on this list where people are living is our home in Kiefholzstraße 74, where a lager should be built to force us to leave. Until now there was no direct communication with us.

While BIM – Berlin grounds and houses company (that is maintaining selling property of the state) is fighting against us for two years and trying to make us sign a contract with racist paragraphs that forbid refugees, rrom_nja and people without papers or with Residenzpflicht to come to our ground.

Radical queer wagonplace Kanal is not only our home but also a political project that is threatened with eviction right now. Kanal is a queer space with a majority of refugees, migrants, Black people, rrom_nja and People of Color who try to live together self-determined, based on on the uncrompromising fight against any kind of state power such as racism, classism, sexism, inter-trans-homo discrimination.

On wednesday, feb 24th at 4.30 pm there is the general assembly of the Neukölln district politicians in Rathaus Neukölln. Let’s fight together and in solidarity against this racist structural gentrification policy! To not let us be replaced by a state run concentration camp that has mass deportation and privatisation as consequences. We won’t let them play us off against each other! We will gather at 4pm in front of Rathaus Neukölln to say NO!

wegen aAkuter Räumungsbedrohung von Radical-Queerer Wagenplatz KANAL

Vor kurzem mussten wir NUR aus der Presse erfahren, dass der Senat in der Kkooperation mit den Bezirken eine Liste veröffentlicht hat, auf der Plätze benannt wurden auf denen eine sogannte “MUF” (modulare Unterkunft für Flüchtlinge) erbaut werden soll. Der einzige bewohnte Platz ist das mit den Plänen auf dem von uns bewohnten Gelände an der Kiefholzstrasse 74, auf der ein Lager  eine sogenannte „MUF“ (Modulare Unterkünfte für Flüchtlinge) zu bauen und will uns damit verdrängen.gebaut werden soll um uns zu verdrängen. Bis jetzt hat keine Kkommunikation mit uns stattgefunden.

Während der Eigentümer BIM-Berliner Immobiliengesellschaft (derie staedtischesliche Eigentum verwaltet und verkauft.) sSeit zwei Jahren gegen uns kämpft, und versucht uns zu zwingen einen Vertrag mit einem rassistischen Absatz zu unterschreiben, der es Geflüchteten, Rroma und Menschen ohne gültigen Aufenthaltstitel oder Residentpflicht untersagt, sich auf dem Platz aufzuhalten.

Radikal Queerer Wagenplatz Kanal ist nicht nur unser Zuhause, sondern auch ein politischer Raum der akut von der Räumumg bedroht ist. KANAL ist ein queerer OrtSpace mit mehrheitlich Geflüchteten, Migrant_innen, Schwarze Menschen, Rrom_nja und Menschen of Color, die versuchen zusammen ein selbst bestimmtes Lleben bassierendt auf dem kompromisslosen Kkampf gegen jegliche Fform von Gewalt und /Macht Ausüuebung, so wie Rrassismus, Kklassismus, Ssexismus, inter- trtrans- homo Ddiskrimminierungen zu füuehren.

Am Mittwoch, 24.02 um 16:30, findet im Rathhaus Nneukölln die Bezirkvollversamlung statt. Lasst uns gemeinsam und solidarisch gegen diese rassistische strukturellen Verdrängungspolitik kämpfen! Um uns nicht durch ein staatlich verwaltetes Massenlager zu ersetzen, dass nicht anderes als gleichzeitige Massenabschiebungen und Privatisierung zur Folge hat. Wir lassen uns nicht gegeneinander ausspielenn Und uns nicht mit der Ersetzung staatliches verwaltetes Massenlagers, die nicht anderes als gleichzeitige Massenabschiebungen und Privatisierung zur Folge hat, gegeneinander ausspielen.!
