Amnesty International is mobilizing against the deportation of two people arrested in Calais on 25th of October during the destruction of the shantytown to Sudan and flights  scheduled  to Khartoum (see here and there).

A presentation of their situation and a campaign via twitter are online here:

https://www.amnesty.fr/refugies-et-migrants/actualites/france-deux-personnes-bientot-renvoyes-dans-un-pays

Amnesty International also asks people to contact the Minister of the Interior by e-mail:

“We urgently need your help.
Two young Sudanese men, Ibrahim and Baker, are at risk of being expelled at any time by France to conflict zones in Sudan.
Ibrahim already has a scheduled flight tomorrow Saturday [flight was cancelled, but another flight is scheduled for Tuesday].

Help us to strengthen our pressure on the Minister of the Interior to decide to interrupt the deportation process.

You can call the minister through Twitter:
Or send the message below to Bernard Cazeneuve : sec.immigration@interieur.gouv.fr
Do not forget to send us a copy : scampagne@amnesty.fr

Thank you for your help

(translation for info)

Minister,
I am writing to ask you to interrupt the deportation of two Sudanese nationals, Ibrahim C and Baker A, who are currently detained at the Vincennes detention center and who may be deported from the territory at any time.

Ibrahim C and Baker A are respectively from Darfur and South Kordofan, two states of Sudan where war has been rampant for years, and civilians are the victims of serious human rights violations. If they are sent back to Khartoum, Ibrahim C and Baker A are also at risk of being mistreated by the Sudanese security services.
France is required by the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union not to return persons to countries where they are at risk of serious violations of their human rights.
I thank you in advance for taking my request into account by interrupting the deportation procedures in progress.

The European Court of Human Rights has rejected Ibrahim’s suspension review, who has a new flight scheduled for Tuesday, 22nd November. It is looking at Baker’s. Both have yet to be presented to the Judge of Freedoms and Detention tomorrow 20th of October and still have an appeal before the administrative court concerning Sudan as the country of destination.

Three more people who are locked up at the CRA at Vincennes have been presented to the Sudanese ambassador for deportation to that country.

Demonstration vor der Botschaft des Tschad: 13.11. 11:30 Oranienplatz/13 Uhr Lepsiusstraße 114 https://www.oplatz.net/demonstartion-vor-der-botschaft-des-tschad-13-11-1130-oranienplatz13-uhr-lepsiusstrase-114/ https://www.oplatz.net/demonstartion-vor-der-botschaft-des-tschad-13-11-1130-oranienplatz13-uhr-lepsiusstrase-114/#respond Mon, 11 Nov 2013 07:57:51 +0000 http://asylstrikeberlin.wordpress.com/?p=3609

Wir können nicht schweigen. We cant keep silence.

Treffen 11:30Uhr Oranienplatz

Since 1960 the Chad is independent. Until now there have been six presidents in power. The current president Idress Deby and his military regime, was brought into power 1990 by the support of France. There have been several elections 1996, 2001, 2006 which have neither been transparent nor democratic. The regime is still in power and uses the military to kill civil people. The regime is kidnapping and forcing women. Chad is rich of petrol but the people are very poor. The money is only used for military. There is oppression and the military comes to villages and kills people.

The family of the president goes to villages using military cars to arrest civil people. When they went recently to one city they were beating one women because she is a member of another party. They shot two persons who came to help her. After this there were manifestations in the citys Mossro and Mao. On this Manifestations three people have been shot. This is normal practice of the regime. After this people from Chad made several demonstrations in France, Egypt etc. against the oppression of the regime. 2012 there have been many people killed in Abeche. Every year the regime kills many people.

There are 10 million people in Chad whose rights are violated every day. “The police and security forces show no respect whatsoever for human rights and enjoy total impunity,” said Christian Mukosa.in the Amnesty International report “In the name of security?” released on 24.10.2013 . Amnesty International also speaks about far to frequent killings, enforced disappearances, illegal detention and arbitrary arrests of critics of the government. But Europe remains silent and is only interested in making economic and military cooperation with one person.

The media remains silent. Hundreds of people – including opposition members of parliament, journalists and academics – are illegally detained in Chad, many held without charge in deplorable conditions.

There is no democracy but 23 years dictatorship.

Come on the 13. November at 13 p.m. t. to the Chad Embassy in Berlin in Lepsiusstraße 114 close to S+U Rathaus Steglitz.

U1 from Kotbusser Tor to Kurfuerstendamm. Than U9 to Rathaus Steglitz. It takes about 30Min.

Meeting 11:30 a.m. Oranienplatz.
